Rough Terrain Lift Truck (Telehandler)

Our Rough Terrain Lift Truck course teaches essential features of telescopic handlers and other rough terrain (Class VII) forklifts. Students are trained on the vehicles used on the job and with the loads normally seen day to day.

Things to consider:

  • A Rough Terrain Forklift is also known as a Telehandler, Zoom Boom & Versahandler
  • Manitoba regulation requires that all operators be trained and certified by the employer
  • The ONLY way for your employees to achieve OHS compliance is by taking both theory and practical training

Course Location: Resident and on-site

Maximum Class Size: 12 Students

Course Duration: 1 day - Classroom and Practical

This training course covers essential features of telescopic handlers and other rough terrain (Class VII) forklifts and their maintenance. Avoid potential dangers of operation, assess loads, move them safely and learn how to get the best from your equipment in various conditions.

Note: In addition to safety training and the elements of this course, operators are required to be evaluated on the truck they will operate, in the workplace they will operate and with the loads normally to be applied. Also the CSA standard requires that operators be retrained at least every three years.

After successful completion of this course, you should be able to understand:

  • How to safely operate a Rough Terrain Lift Truck
  • How to perform daily a inspection
  • How to point out potential hazards
  • How to handle loads and keep the Rough Terrain Lift Truck stable

After successful completion of this course the student will be issued a certificate of completion.
